Position Overview:

Our expanding media and content team in Dar es Salaam is looking for a skilled and seasoned Journalist to join us. A full-time, on-site position fit for someone who loves narrative, sports, multimedia production, and digital journalism.

The perfect applicant will be instrumental in creating high-quality sports news pieces, interesting video material, and audience engagement across digital channels. From writing articles and press releases to covering live athletic events and producing visual stories, this is a dynamic opportunity for someone with excellent editorial instincts and technological knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce, compose, and revise top-notch sports news stories, features, and papers
  
  Produce and distribute multimedia material comprising behind-the-scenes stories, match coverage, and video interviews.
  
  Using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar software, record and edit video content for digital platforms.
  
  Interview players, coaches, supporters, and other important sports world stakeholders including players, coaches, and fans.
  
  Report on and attend live events both locally and nationwide
  
  Manage and upload material across several digital platforms, including content management systems (CMS), social media outlets, and YouTube.
  
  Work collaboratively with digital and editorial teams to create interesting and innovative story telling formats.
  
  Always keep a strong and professional presence reflecting the Meridianbet brand in the field.

Qualifications & Experience:

• At least three years of experience in digital content development, media production, or journalism.
  
  Good video editing, photography, and videography skills
  
  Practical knowledge in editing programs like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, or comparable ones
  
  Experience in uploading and optimizing material for several channels, including YouTube, websites, social media.
  
  Academic credentials in Journalism, Multimedia, Mass Communication, or similar disciplines
  
  It is absolutely necessary to be fluent in both English and Swahili.
  
  A good knowledge and passion in sports, especially football and sports betting
  
  Willingness to work on weekends, holidays, and irregular hours as needed for coverage.
