Tanzania's top cellular network firm is Vodacom Tanzania Limited. With more than 15.6 million customers as of December 2020, Vodacom Tanzania was the biggest cellular telecom network in Tanzania. Vodacom Tanzania, the second telecom carrier in Africa after Vodacom, is turning on its 3G High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA), which was only accessible in Dar Es Salaam in early 2007. The executive headquarters of Vodacom Tanzania is on the 15th Floor of the Vodacom Towers at 23 Ursino Estate, along Old Bagamoyo Road, in Dar es Salaam, the financial center of Tanzania. 6 The firm headquarters' geographical coordinates are: 06°46'41.0"S, 39°15'37.0"E (Latitude:-6.778056; Longitude:39.260278).

The firm went active on 14 August 2000 and finished its GSM infrastructure by August 2000. On 15 August 2000, Vodacom Tanzania officially started running commercially. Within one year of starting, Vodacom Tanzania grew to be the largest mobile operator in the nation and still has that title as of now. 

The business maintains active roaming agreements with numerous mobile network operators worldwide including T-Mobile USA in the United States, Vodafone Limited in the United Kingdom and Vodafone India in India.
