Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is seeking applications from highly driven, properly trained Tanzanians to fill two open Driver II posts at its Coast Regional Office in Kibaha. Operating under the Ministry of Works and Transport, the agency is responsible for the development and maintenance of the trunk roadways network in mainland Tanzania. TANROADS also manages road infrastructure projects in several areas, so guaranteeing the safety, accessibility, and effective maintenance of the road system of the nation.

The Driver II roles provide dedicated people an opportunity to help a vital public institution succeed. Depending on performance and the changing agency needs, the contract-based positions are renewed. Reporting straight to the regional administrative and logistical teams, the successful applicants will be based in the TANROADS Coast office.

Applicants have to satisfy certain important requirements to qualify for this chance. Candidates should hold a valid Grade C or E driving license and have finished their Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE). Moreover, candidates have to have taken a Basic Driving Course from the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) or any other acknowledged government training organization. One year of pertinent driving experience is needed, along with a verifiable clean driving record.

Working as a Driver II at TANROADS comes with several key duties. The agency's motor vehicles will be operated by successful applicants to assist administrative, technical, and logistical tasks. To guarantee operational safety and save downtime, they will be expected to perform regular servicing and maintenance on their allocated cars. The drivers also have to make sure their cars are clean, presentable, and kept in line with safety rules.

Apart from operating and maintaining their cars, the drivers will also be in charge of managing shipments and mail. This covers the secure and quick distribution and collecting of official papers and other items between field sites, stakeholders, and offices. Depending on the needs of the agency, the kind of job could call for long-distance travel and flexibility in working hours. Success in this position depends on drivers' ability to adapt and proactive attitude since they may be required to carry out additional tasks assigned by supervisors.

These jobs are on the TANROADS salary scale TRDS 2.1, which offers a professional workplace and a fair benefits package. TANROADS is dedicated to keeping a staff that reflects diversity, equity, and inclusiveness. Persons with disabilities are therefore especially invited to apply and should specify their condition in the application to enable any required accommodations throughout the hiring process.

Tanzanian citizenship, age not over 45 years, and a great degree of personal integrity and accountability are among general application criteria. Candidates have to include an up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV) with accurate contact details including phone numbers, email, and postal addresses. Applicants must also submit certified copies of academic and professional qualifications, including certificates for secondary education, driving training, national examination records (Form IV and Form VI), and a birth certificate.

Under no conditions are copies of examination results slips, testimonials, or incomplete transcripts accepted. Candidates now working in the public sector with permanent and pensionable posts must also explicitly indicate their employment status in their application. Applicants also have to include contact information for three trustworthy referees who may vouch for their character, work ethic, and professional qualifications.

Those with foreign academic credentials must make sure the relevant Tanzanian authorities, including the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for ordinary and advanced level education and the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) for higher education qualifications, have verified these credentials.

Submissions of applications are due by May 7, 2025. Submissions that are late will not be taken into account. TANROADS underlines that providing false information or forged papers will result in legal repercussions, including rejection from the employment process.

Interviews will be held only for those who qualify and are chosen from the shortlist. Shortlisted candidates will be required to come as scheduled; interviews will be held at a day and place to be informed later.

Interested applicants should send a signed application letter in either English or Swahili, addressed to:
